A few South Korean retailers have already been suspended of the Sale of US Beef. The relevant authorities confirmed a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy – more commonly know to all as “mad cow disease,” in a dairy cow in central California. LotteMart said the sale of beef is temporary suspended to ease customer anxiety.

However, the South Korean government said it will step up checks on U.S. beef imports but not halt it for now. South Korea is the second-largest importer of beef from the United States. In 2010, it imported 125,000 tons of U.S. beef, a 97% increase from the year before, the United States Department of Agriculture said.
